Most packaged firewood is cut around a fireplace, not the compact smokeless fire pits now sitting on patios everywhere. A standard 16-inch log can bridge the opening, crowd the burn chamber, or simply refuse to fit.
Short Cut fixes that. Each hand-split log is milled to 11 inches — a practical length for popular compact fire-pit designs, including Solo Stove Ranger and Bonfire and Breeo-size pits, without turning real firewood into little kindling sticks.
Our incense cedar is kiln-dried and extremely dry — typically under 10% moisture and always under 20%. That means less weight to carry, less fighting to get a fire started, and the tall, bright, animated flame cedar does best. Those taller, brighter flames are exactly why this wood is as at home in an indoor fireplace as it is in a backyard pit.
Then there is the aroma. Incense cedar releases a warm, unmistakably woodsy fragrance as it burns. It does not merely warm the space; it changes the whole feel of the night.
