Snap traps you have to set, check and empty
Granules you spread once and refresh monthly

Set up the enclosed spaces you want to protect—your garage, shed or stored RV—with pouches you can refill, instead of buying a new pouch every time.
Fill amounts and conditions vary. Use as directed on the label; refresh every 30 days or sooner after heavy rain. For existing rodent activity, combine exclusion and appropriate control measures—repellent is not a promise to clear an infestation.
Here's how DoubleTree handles mice and rats — with cedar and essential oils.

Walls, entry points, foundations and perimeters — plus pouches in crawlspaces, RVs, boats and cabinets
Every 30 days, or after heavy rain. Fall and winter are when rodents move indoors.
One bag does two jobs: a poured band where rodents come in from outside, and refillable pouches in the enclosed spots they nest.
Pour a granule band around the outside; pouches go where mice actually get in.

Enclosed and low-traffic — this is where the pouches do the work.

Anything parked for the season is a rodent's winter house. Set it up the day you park it.

Feed, seed and firewood are the draw. Cover the food first, then the machines.

Close it up with pouches in place; refresh them the day you open it back up.

Pouches go in enclosed, low-airflow spots. Out of wind and drafts — the scent has to build up to work.
Keep pouches away from any traps or bait. They push rodents away from wherever they sit — you want the trap somewhere rodents still go.
Refresh every 30 days. Sooner on any band the rain hits. Refill pouches from the same bag.
Larger sizes are multiples of the 16qt bag — same granules, same 6 pouches per bag. Pick by how many spaces you're covering.
One home perimeter, or one garage / RV setup
One 16qt bag and 6 pouches. Approximately 60 individual fills if used only in pouches.
Home plus outbuildings, or a cabin you close up
Two bands and 12 pouches — enough for a house and a shop, or a whole cabin.
Home, shop and stored equipment
18 pouches spread across the house, the garage and every cab and compartment.
Several structures and stored vehicles
Four 16qt bags and 24 pouches for outbuildings and vehicles.
Farms, fleets and seasonal storage
Six 16qt bags and 36 pouches. Approximately 360 individual pouch fills when used only in pouches.
This is a keep-out, not a get-out. Here's what a normal 30-day cycle looks like.
The peppermint is strongest right now — that's what turns rodents around at the perimeter. Bands go along the outside; pouches go in the enclosed spots.
The scent settles into the cedar. Check pouches in drafty spots and re-pour any band the rain took. Still seeing droppings? You had residents before the pouches went in — set traps where the droppings are, and keep pouches out of the trap's path.
Empty each pouch, refill it from the bag, re-pour the band. A 16qt bag holds 60 refills — 10 full rounds for 6 pouches — with the supply lasting according to how much you use.
Results vary with airflow, weather and how many rodents were already inside. Repellents keep rodents out; they don't clear an active problem — trap first, then keep them from coming back.
Repels mice and rats in garages, sheds, barns, crawlspaces, RVs and boats.

Mice and rats. Cornmint (peppermint) oil at 3.13% and cinnamon oil at 0.50% are absorbed into kiln-dried incense cedar granules. Rodents navigate largely by scent, and a treated band or pouch is a spot they'd rather not cross. The other 96.37% of the bag is the cedar itself.
In our shop test, one 16-quart bag filled 62 of our 4×6-inch pouches. We advertise approximately 60 individual fills to allow a little margin. That is about 10 fill cycles for the six included pouches, counting the initial fill—not 60 cycles for the whole kit.
At the 16qt kit price of $58.99, that is about $0.98 per individual fill, with the reusable pouches included. This is a supply calculation, not a monthly protection cost or a duration guarantee. Filling more heavily or spreading granules outdoors reduces the available pouch fills.
Expect a noticeable peppermint, cinnamon and cedar scent. Scent strength and how quickly it fades depend on ventilation, temperature and placement. Follow the label: refresh every 30 days, or sooner after heavy rain for outdoor applications. Do not judge protection by smell alone.
The scent is at full strength the moment you pour. Think of it as a keep-out, not a get-out: bands and pouches are at their best stopping rodents from moving in. If you're already seeing droppings, set traps where the activity is first, then place pouches to keep them from coming back.
Outside, sprinkle a 2-inch band along walls, entry points, foundations and perimeters. Inside, fill the pouches and place them in enclosed, low-airflow spots, one every 8–10 feet, away from any traps or bait:
Yes — and if you have an active problem, you should. Put traps where the droppings are and keep the pouches out of the trap's path: pouches push rodents away from wherever they sit, and you want the trap in a spot rodents still go. Never set a pouch on or next to a bait station.
Yes. This is a "dry" wood product, not an oil-soaked liquid. It won't leak, drip, or corrode wiring. For stored vehicles, place pouches on flat surfaces under the hood or in the cab. Crucial: Always remove engine bay pouches before starting or driving the vehicle.
Choose by the number of places you want to use pouches: 16qt includes 1 bag + 6 pouches; 32qt, 2 bags + 12 pouches; 48qt, 3 bags + 18 pouches; 64qt, 4 bags + 24 pouches; 96qt, 6 bags + 36 pouches. Every bag is 16 quarts. Fill quantities vary with how full you pack each pouch and how much you spread outdoors.
Every 16-quart bag includes 6 pouches. Fill them from the bag, place them, and refill them from the same bag on your next cycle. Larger sizes are multiples of the same bag — the 32-quart is 2 bags and 12 pouches, the 96-quart is 6 bags and 36 pouches.
